Unsent Messages

i listen to this playlist every morning because it reminds me of how beautiful things were and could have been. I push down on my stomach every morning because you taught me it helps you poop. I put mustard on my sandwiches now because you once made me a sandwich with mustard and I learned to love it. You told me how beautiful my hair smelled so every morning I spray the scent that you love because it makes me feel confident. And I spray perfume around my neck because you told me that that’s what people first smell when they hug me. I am a mosaic of everything you have taught and shown me. And I think that is a very beautiful thing, regardless of the outcome of how this all turns out. I hope you can remember me as something beautiful rather than something that is no longer your other half.
